Anglia Water Stategic Network Programme

We wanted to give you an update about our proposed 90km water pipeline between Grantham, Peterborough and Bexwell, near Downham Market.

Locally, it will increase reliability and reduce the number of homes and businesses which currently rely on a single pipeline.

Click here to watch a short video about our work, and here to visit our dedicated webpages.

What’s happened so far?

As we’ve previously mentioned, we spent time identifying the likely routes for our pipelines.

We held an online engagement event in September 2021, giving the community, local residents and stakeholders an opportunity to see, and comment on, our plans, including our preferred route.

We then submitted an Environmental Statement (ES), and a planning application, to the councils along the route later in February of this year.

What’s happening next?

You may have seen our teams carrying out survey work and, in some areas, investigations of sites of archaeological interest.

We have also been digging trenches and boreholes along the planned route. That work allows us to better understand conditions below the ground

We hope to begin early works, such as creating access for our teams and building compounds, in the autumn of this year, and start our pipelaying in the winter months of 2023. The entire pipeline should be completed by the end of 2024.

How to get in touch We’d be happy to share more detail about our plans and answer any questions via email, video or telephone call.

You can contact us via our Customer Centre, call us on 03457 145145, quoting job reference 57914903 or email StrategicPipelines@anglianwater.co.uk. Please visit our dedicated webpages, here, for further information. Regards, Strategic Pipelines Team
