EMNETH PARISH COUNCIL HAS A VACANCY FOR A PARISH COUNCILLOR  

This will be filled by co-option at a meeting of the Council.  

Candidates will be invited to say a few words in support of their application at the meeting.

The parish has 12 councillors who are elected for a four-year period or until the next ordinary election. The Council usually meets on the last Tuesday of every month in the Village Hall on Gaultree Square, meetings starting at 6.30pm prompt.

The Parish Council has a variety of powers and duties, all of which impact directly on the community. In the main, Emneth Parish Council deals with matters relating to the administration and management of the cemetery and playing field/play area, the provision and management of the street lighting in the parish, the management of agricultural land for let and the management of other open spaces such as the public rights of way, litter bins, dog waste bins, grit bins, street furniture such as benches and tables, planning consultation for development in the parish, traffic calming and other highways issues and general spending in accordance with statutory law deemed to be of benefit to the community.
