RNAA Norfolk Farming Scholars Competition

RNAA Norfolk Farming Scholars Competition

Apply now to win a fully-funded scholarship for the Oxford Farming Conference and OFC Scholars Programme 2024.

If you are aged 18-30, involved in the Agricultural Industry, live/work or study in Norfolk, and have not previously attended The Oxford Farming Conference, then you are able to enter the Norfolk Farming Scholar Competition courtesy of The Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association.

The competition offers three winners the opportunity to be named as Norfolk’s Farming Scholars and be at the epicentre of all agriculture’s pressing issues at the start of 2024.

The OFC Scholars Programme and conference provides a great opportunity to participate in discussions surrounding the key topics affecting the Agricultural industry and to gain personal and professional development as future leaders of UK agriculture.

As well as full attendance, accommodation and meals at the Oxford Farming Conference (3-5 January 2024), successful applicants for the OFC Scholars Programme will be invited and expected to attend:

· Introductory informal webinar to meet and greet 2024 Scholar cohort and receive an overview of the programme. Date tbc

· One-day in-person event in London on 20 November 2023, in collaboration with McCain Foods. The agenda will include an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion workshop, and a social media training workshop.

· An online interactive webinar in November/December 2023. Date TBC.

· In-person leadership and communications training on Wednesday 3 January 2024.

To apply, applicants must submit the following information and answer all the questions below via email to jacob.stirling@rnaa.org.uk by no later than 20 September 2023 with in person interviews taking place at Norfolk Showground the last week of September.

  1. Do you do any of the following in Norfolk? Live, Work
  2. What are the three most important challenges facing the UK agriculture industry over the next 5 years and why?
  3. What are your career ambitions?
  4. How will the Scholars Programme events and attendance at the Oxford Farming Conference benefit you personally and contribute to the development of your career aspirations?

The winners will receive a scholarship to the OFC Scholars Programme which includes a free three-day ticket to the conference including paid meal and hotel expenses.  Winners will also be able to claim travel expenses, up to £250.  Successful applicants must be willing to work with our marketing team pre and post event(s) to share their experience of the programme and conference so that the RNAA can share these valuable insights with our wider network; this may include speaker and networking events.

Please feel free to share this information with anyone you know who meets the above criteria.
